About two and half years ago, November 4, 2006, I had the opportunity to visit some of Normandy's WWII memorials with fellow UW students in Nantes. Here is just a small glimpse of the trip.

Caen Memorial Museum

American Cemetery on Omaha Beach
Walking through this cemetery and reading the names on the white crosses was an extraordinarily moving experience. The water is so calm below, which is such a contrast to what happened there, now 65 years ago.

Pointe du Hoc, located between Utah and Omaha Beach, where the German's built fortifications. The area is covered with bomb craters.
