TUESDAY

We took the métro from the hostel to the Lyon train station.

It was a two hour coach ride from Lyon to Annecy.

We stopped at the public bibliothèque (library)

Leslie and I walked along Lac d'Annecy and eventually ended up in the town of Sevrier.

Sevrier Cemetery has Lac d'Annecy and the French Prealps as a background.

MONDAY
We began the day, heading over the Rhône and came upon a typical French market.

A promotional truck for a radio station, it reads qui n’écoute pas n’est pas Lyonnais (those who don’t listen aren’t Lyonnais (a resident of Lyon)).

* In French, a common way of making a city name into either an adjective or noun is by adding -ais at the end of the city name. For example: Montluçon → Montluçonnais, Nantes → Nantais, Marseille → Marseillais, etc…

Musée des Beaux Arts in Lyon. The lady at the museum let Leslie and I get in for free, I am not sure why, but I tried paying and she wouldn't let me. The musuem was very nice, especially for free.

"L'Adoration de l'Enfant" by Jacquelin de Montluçon, a painter that came out of Montluçon during the Middle Ages.

SUNDAY

Leslie making herself at home, sits on my bed and designs a greeting card before heading off to Lyon.

Leslie and I arrived in Lyon after a three hour train ride, checked into the hostel, then walked over the Rhône River and did a little exlporing of Lyon.

Leslie and I bought dinner from a sandwich stand with the name American Sandwich.
