10 octobre 2008, first day of teaching and Clermont-Ferrand

FRIDAY

Today, it was my first day of teaching. I taught three classes at École Jules Ferry in the morning. After running errands around Montluçon, (which included going back to the sous-préfecture to pick up paperwork for my worker's permit and residency card) I went to the train station and headed 1.5 hours south to Clermont-Ferrand.
Clermont-Ferrand is the capital and largest city in the region of Auvergne. The main motive for heading to Clermont was to see Nada Surf, a band out of New York City that is on the Seattle record label, Barsuk.

La Coopérative de Mai is the venue where Nada Surf played at in Clermont-Ferrand.

Nada Surf.
The concert was amazing and it was cool to see the French audience enjoy Nada Surf. The lead singer of Nada Surf knows French, so he bantered in French, which added to the experience.
